Having a blog is sometimes more stressful than it should be. I haven't posted in a good while, but I'm busy with good things! We had church camp--a convicting, growing experience--and our Gospel meeting. I attended a week of VBS and various meetings at local congregations, and also went on a rafting trip with some friends from camp. All with babysitting, which I still love. I've been able to finish up Nehemiah and Esther recently, and I am LOVING the book of Job right now. Once I start reading, I never want to stop! This summer I have been doing a study of Acts--which I am LOVING as well! (One reason I don't blog as often is because most of the free time I have now goes to the Acts study, which I hope you'll gauge "A Good Thing.")
So, I guess this is kind of an "explanation" blog.
I stress when I don't post, but don't really know why. I also stress about Facebook. That thing is a bummer. I don't particularly enjoy it, but now I get "important" messages (babysitting, college info, time & date & place memos) on there so I feel like I HAVE to check it. If you have a suggestion on how to deal, please share. :0)
Right now I have a bajillion things I want to blog about (especially verses and great things God has done and is doing!) but I want to work on the Acts study. ;0) I hope you'll come back soon, because I do have encouragement to share. Please pray for me! (College starts Aug. 20--I'm in a frenzy!)
It is so encouraging that God and His word is the priority in your life! Everything else will fall into place if you put your trust in Him. I will be praying for you as you are preparing for college, making decisions about your future and juggling everything else.
ReplyDeleteHannah, you have a big new adventure that God is just waiting to show Himself mighty in (college!) Very exciting!
ReplyDeleteI've been studying Job this week too-specifically Elihu (the fourth and youngest friend) when he finally spoke up to talk to Job :) Good stuff- kind of reminds me of you- wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age, but instead being filled by the Spirit!
(Don't worry about not posting, by the way! I love it when you post because it is so encouraging, but I also admire that blogging and everything else comes second to your first and foremost priorities!) So what I'm trying to say- your quiet breaks from blogging speak in volumes, too! :)
I deactivated my Facebook account and it's great! One thing you may want to do if you'd like to deactivate it is send a message and/or make a status for those who often contact you on facebook and leave your e-mail address and phone number (if you send a message, they can view the message after you deactivate your account) in the message so they know how to contact you outside of Facebook. I'm not saying that you need to deactivate your account, but just giving a suggestion to make it work without missing important information :) Or you could consider turning off some notifications so your inbox isn't cluttered with them, or you could "clean out" your friends list (as in, delete some people) to help simplify. Good luck with the Facebook issues!
ReplyDeleteI read through the book of Acts last summer (didn't do an official study though) and it was awesome! It was incredible to see how much the first century Christians were on fire for Christ. It blew my mind to think about! I'm glad you're enjoying it this summer.
I'll pray for you as you begin college - what an exciting time :)
Just dropping a quick note to say I will be praying for you. God is good!
ReplyDeleteAwesome to hear God is your priority! Can't go wrong there! Will be praying for you and trent as colloge begins. God bless!
