Blog Catch-Up...

Well, I have been working at the daycare for about a month and a half now.  While there are still days I am exhausted and overwhelmed, I love my job.  It really doesn't seem like a job at all, quite honestly.  (Except for getting that paycheck, which always surprises me!  Ha!)  I have a whole treasure chest of funny and sweet stories in my heart.  Plus, I've got several "new" little faces that constantly float around in my mind and are named in my prayers often.

I have a few pictures that I've been meaning to post on here.  Now that I have a few minutes, I'll post them and explain.  They don't flow together...sorry. :)
So, I'm pretty sure it's legal to show you a picture of my classroom at daycare.  (I mean, there's no way anyone could tell what town it's in or figure out any of the kids' identities...)  Anyway, there are two other women that work from early in the morning till the time I get there so it's more their room than mine, but still.
The youth group in the church held a Valentine's Dinner for ages 50 and up this year.  It was really a lot of fun--and a good learning experience.  Our preacher's wife decorated the fellowship hall, as you can see above.  I thought it was so cute!  (And I can't get over those yellow walls--my FAVORITE color!  Oh, but she didn't paint those (ha!), they were already that color.)
Our local newspaper sold advertisement-type boxed sections for Valentine's Day.  We live in a small, country town, so this particular message cracked me up.  You just have to love people.

In our Wednesday night teen class, we've started something new--and I'm thoroughly enjoying the challenge.  Our teacher, Keith, asked us all to choose a book of the Bible we'd like to study more in-depth; we also have a book about how to study the Bible that we're utilizing along with our own personal studies.  I'm guilty of "reading a few chapters a day," but not really studying.  Sometimes I choose certain topics to study, which is also good, but I've never chosen a single book before.  This is challenging!  I like it.  I chose Hebrews.  I'll try to keep you updated on certain readings that I'm studying more in-depth.

Just in reading so far, I came across Hebrews 2:18--"For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted."

One of the greatest things about the Word of God?  You can read It over and over, and you always find something new or something you didn't quite grasp before.  As I've mentioned before, I struggle in my relationship with Trent.  This is a daily battle.  I am hesitant to approach God with these struggles, because I know in my heart what a special blessing Trent is and how I should maintain the proper godly love for him.  But when I came across this verse, I was comforted immediately.  I read it over and over!  How could I have forgotten this fact?  Jesus was tempted too--without sinning!  (Heb. 4:15)  Oh, may I draw near to Him, confident that He will have mercy and grace on me in my time of need.  (Heb. 4:16)

  1. Let me just tell you how sweet it was to see a picture of the pre-school classroom. What a wonderful, wonderful blessing for you! (Even though it adds a little pressure to your schedule.) I love the little blue cots in the corner- those are the same exact ones that my former pre-school used :) Good memories, thank you! Have fun with your little kiddos this week!
