The ferns are getting bigger, and we've spent the last week inserting the wire hangers & hanging them. Also, many of the poinsettas are sold now! (Well, some; we still have too many!)
This is my new ornament for 2010! If I knew how, I probably could have made it myself, but I got a pretty good deal. $2! (And it's my favorite color!)
I have a small pink tree in my room, and as I was looking at it the other night, I realized that each ornament means something very special to me. This one is from 2007--it's a BOOKSTORE! The other side has a staircase and two floors of books. :) I should've taken a picture. Hmm.
Speaking of books, I'm reading a rather thought-provoking one right now: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Each chapter is a letter from an advanced Tempter working for the devil, and he writes letters to his nephew, a Junior Tempter. His letters detail how to lead the patient, or person he is assigned to tempt, away from God, and how to make his faith of no effect. Although it's fiction (and one has to remind his or herself that a human, not God, indeed wrote this book, and its contents may not be entirely veritable or in accordance with the Bible), it has enlightened me of techniques that Satan might use to wear me down. Enthralling, and very much worth reading!

Cute ornaments-- the bookstore looks especially neat. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Screwtape Letters is on my Christmas list. I've never read all of it, but I happen to enjoy anything that C.S. Lewis wrote. He has lots of interesting points. Whenever I re-read one of his books, I always notice or learn something new.
I like your ornaments! And The Screwtape Letters sounds very interesting.
